ABG Intellectual Property

ABG Intellectual Property is one of the most respected IP firms in the Spanish market. The firm changed its name in 2018 from ABG Patentes to ABG Intellectual Property to reflect its full-service IP practice, which now includes a legal department. Patent protection and portfolio management is still the firm's core business, with a range of clients in technical fields such as pharmaceutical, chemistry, biotechnology and engineering.

Co-founder and European patent attorney Juan Arias, who has a background in chemistry, leads the firm. In the patents practice you will find experienced senior patent attorneys such as Pablo Calvo, Agustín Alconada, Fernando Prieto and Enric Carbonell. Prieto and Calvo lead on engineering and physics-related instructions while Alconada deals with biotechnology matters.

The firm has a team of lawyers and trade mark attorneys to deal with brand-related matters. European trade mark attorneys Christine Weimann and Inés Cantero Clivillé are the key practitioners in its trade mark practice. Weimann is in charge of the trade mark practice.
