Cronje is a prolific drafter of patent specifications, the subject matter of which spans the disciplines of electric, electronic, mechanical, process and biomedical engineering.
He has valuable experience in the engineering industry having spent a number of years as a developer before pursuing a career as a patent attorney. Having gained a healthy appetite for diverse technologies, he can quickly get a firm grasp on an invention regardless of the field.
Cronje is experienced in drafting patent specifications relating to computer implemented inventions, such as secure digital payment systems, with a high prosecution success rate in examining jurisdictions.
His further drafting experience includes the following technologies:
- Embedded electronic systems including Internet of Things (IoT) systems;
- Robust digital electronic circuitry (such as for use in satellites);
- Electric rotating machinery;
- Digital signal processing techniques;
- Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) and UAV accessories;
- Agricultural implements including soil-working implements;
- Medical implants such as stents and valve replacements;
- Medical diagnostic equipment; and
- Industrial processing, for example the processing of slurries.
