Malgorzata Furmanska, attorney at law, specialist in industrial property rights and combating unfair competition, as well as consumer protection law (B2C) and personal data protection (GDPR).

She gives opinions on the processes related to the development and exploitation of innovative solutions in the context of compatibility with Industrial Property Law, civil and legal obligations as well as trade secret protection. She represents entrepreneurs acquiring innovative solutions and co-operates in developing strategies to secure the rights of the authors and IT solutions.

She has extensive experience in representing clients in disputes relating to trademarks and unfair competition acts, also on the Internet. Moreover, she provides legal assistance in the effective management of industrial property rights and counsels on concluding licence agreements.

She carries out audits regarding protection of personal data and other information under legal protection of companies. She helps to evaluate the risk associated with data processing, assists in developing and implementing privacy policy, elaborating procedures as well as developing contracts required by the law (inter alia, under GDPR). She also counsels companies in information security related issues.

Within the area of consumer law, she performs analyses of sales systems, including regulations and payment methods of webstores, also in terms of their compliance with the Act on Consumer Rights – Consumer Rights Directive. She has extensive experience in developing the rules and procedures for various contests and games as well as documents necessary for communicating with consumers.

She acquired her professional experience in various law firms in Warsaw, and since 2011, she has been associated with JWP. Małgorzata is the author of publications concerned with combating unfair competition and Community consumer law. She is an active participant of the Coalition for Polish Innovations and she also gives lectures and conducts trainings.
