Dragana obtained her basic education in Serbia and her PhD in Denmark. After finishing her PhD she entered IP profession in 2015 and is now a European Patent Attorney (EPA) with a more than a decade of experience in intellectual property. Dragana advises global clients within the field of photonics and optical communications, specializing in emerging technologies including coherent communications and integrated optics. Dragana’s practice covers all aspects of patent law, her strategic insights often bridge the gap between research, IP rights, and life-cycle management. Over the years, Dragana has served a diverse client base, ranging from startups to multinational corporations. Dragana did her PhD at Technical University of Denmark, in the former Photonics Department (now DTU Electro), with a focus on optics and optical effects in optical fibers, nano waveguides, and also photonic crystal cavities their use in high speed optical communications, involving various modulation formats. She is the author and co-author on more than 25 papers. She has worked extensively with applications  of nanophotonic nonlinear devices in optical communications, including, waveguides, cavities, couplers, 
polarization sensitive devices, optical sensors, and optical signal processing.
