Michael Seifried is a Partner in FB Rice’s Melbourne trade marks team and leads the firm’s trade marks practice.
He advises clients ranging from small and medium enterprises to large publicly listed companies on both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters. Michael has particular expertise in complex trade mark prosecution, oppositions and removal proceedings, and provides strategic advice on trade mark protection and portfolio management, including matters relating to domain names, copyright and the copyright/design overlap.
Michael is known for his commercially focused approach and works closely with clients to ensure their trade mark strategies align with broader business objectives.
Michael has been recommended in the WTR 1000 Trademark Prosecution and Strategy rankings each year since 2018 and recognised as an IP Star for Trade Mark Prosecution by Managing Intellectual Property, most recently in 2025. He was also named a Global Leader by World Trademark Review in 2025 in the Private Practice category.
