Stuart Levi

Stuart D. Levi is a partner in Skadden’s Intellectual Property and Technology Transactions group and serves as co head of the firm’s Blockchain and Digital Assets Group. He has a broad and diverse practice that includes advising on matters involving artificial intelligence, fintech, technology transactions, blockchain and digital assets, outsourcing transactions, intellectual property licensing, privacy and cybersecurity, and branding and distribution agreements. Utilizing his background in computer science and the information technology industry, Mr. Levi has extensive understanding of the technology and business drivers underlying agreements and transactions in these areas. He applies a business-focused approach to solving complex legal issues.

Mr. Levi has written and spoken on numerous outsourcing, privacy, technology and intellectual property issues, and each year he co-chairs the Practising Law Institute’s Open Source Institute. He was named a winner of a Law360 Award for Distinguished Legal Writing (presented by the Burton Awards) in 2023 and 2019.

Mr. Levi has been a recognized leader in the technology transaction field for over 30 years and has been named a National Law Journal Trailblazer in Cryptocurrency, Blockchain and Fintech. He also has been recognized as a Thought Leader by Who’s Who Legal: Fintech & Blockchain, an IP Star by Managing IP, a Leading AI & Legal Tech Advisor by Lawdragon, one of Identity Review’s Top 20 Blockchain Lawyers, and to Intellectual Asset Management’s IAM Patent 1000. In the field of artificial intelligence, Mr. Levi is co-chair of the New York City Bar subcommittee on AI in Finance and Commerce, co-chair of the New York State Judiciary Advisory Committee on Artificial Intelligence and the Courts, and a member of the New York City Bar Committee on AI and the Judiciary.

• Stuart is IP counsel of choice to Walmart, having recently
  represented the company in a multiyear technology license and
  procurement deal with Packsize to purchase smart packaging
  automation systems that build boxes to fit the exact size of a
  customer order. The automated systems were built exclusively
  for Walmart and will be installed in Walmart’s integrated
  fulfillment centers.
• Stuart advised Spirit AeroSystems Holdings, Inc. in its
  landmark $8.3 billion acquisition by The Boeing Company. He
  also advised Spirit in the sale of certain assets and sites
  involved in the production of Airbus aerostructures to Airbus
  SE (Netherlands) and in the $95 million sale of its facility and
  businesses in Malaysia to Composites Technology Research
  Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Malaysia).
• Stuart is advising Crypto.com in its $6.42 billion business
  combination with Yorkville Acquisition Corp. and Trump Media
  & Technology Group Corp. to establish Trump Media Group
  CRO Strategy, Inc.
