Ann-Kathrin Michel, M.Sc. (Physics), LL.M. German and European Patent Attorney, UPC Representative, Senior Associate, Munich office. Ann-Kathrin Michel is a German and European Patent Attorney and UPC Representative. As a physicist with an LL.M. in European Intellectual Property Law, she counsels clients in a variety of technical disciplines. Ann-Kathrin Michel has been working in the field of intellectual property law since 2015. One focus of her work is on patent prosecution, opposition and opposition appeal proceedings, as well as the preparation of infringement and validity opinions. In addition to her expertise in experimental physics with a focus on nanotechnology, Ann-Kathrin Michel has specialist knowledge in the fields of mechanical engineering, mechanics, robotics, process engineering, electronics, renewable energies, optics, and medical technology. |

Lisa Fleidl Attorney-at-law (Rechtsanwältin), Hamburg office Lisa Fleidl advises national and international clients, in particular patent pools and owners of standard-essential patents, as an attorney-at-law with a focus on patent litigation, related antitrust issues, and enforcement proceedings. Tomasz Klama, Dr. jur. Attorney-at-Law (Rechtsanwalt), UPC Representative, Munich office Dr. Tomasz Klama studied at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and, as part of his training, completed stages including at the Regional Court of Munich II and at a law firm in Warsaw. During his studies and legal clerkship, he gained experience in various areas of law, in particular in product liability law and litigation. He deepened this experience by working as a research associate in several major international law firms, such as Pinsent Masons and Hogan Lovells. Karin Bek Attorney-at-Law (Rechtsanwältin), UPC Representative, Munich office Karin Bek studied law at the University of Bayreuth and completed an LL.M. degree in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary University of London in Paris and London. During her legal clerkship in Munich, she gained practical experience in intellectual property and pharmaceutical law at Preu Bohlig & Partner in Munich and in patent litigation at Bristows LLP in London. She also worked as a research associate in these areas. Before joining BARDEHLE PAGENBERG, Karin Bek worked for an international pharmaceutical company and for the major law firm Pinsent Masons, with a focus on life sciences/IP. |

Thomas Kotzott, Dr. rer. nat., M.Sc. Physics German Patent Attorney (licensed to practice starting July 30, 2025), European Patent Attorney, Hamburg office During his training as a patent attorney at the law firm SEEMANN & PARTNER in Hamburg, Dr. Thomas Kotzott was involved in national and international patent prosecution and validity proceedings. As a result, he has extensive experience in various technical fields in the context of patent law. Before working in intellectual property law, Thomas studied physics in Göttingen and Madrid, specializing in solid-state and materials physics. He then carried out research in the field of surface science and nanosciences. The main focus of his work includes patent prosecution proceedings, validity proceedings, and the enforcement of intellectual property rights in patent infringement proceedings. |

Selina Opas Attorney-at-law (Rechtsanwältin), Munich office As part of her bachelor’s degree in advertising and market communication, Selina Opas already dealt intensively with issues relating to brands, designs, and competition. She maintained this focus during her law studies and legal clerkship, which she undertook in Munich and New York—now with a clear legal focus. Most recently, she worked as a legally-qualified employee in the field of intellectual property law at Bird & Bird. While working as an attorney-at-law at BARDEHLE PAGENBERG in the Trademark and Design team, Selina Opas is also completing her doctorate on a trademark law topic. |

Benedikt Dellen, B.Sc. (Hons) Biochemistry (St Andrews) Attorney-at-Law (Rechtsanwalt), UPC Representative, Counsel, Hamburg office Benedikt Dellen is an attorney-at law and biochemist. His combined legal and scientific training gives him special access to the interests of his clients. He has many years of experience in conducting complex, international parallel patent infringement proceedings with teams from the EU, the United Kingdom, and the US. His main focus is on advising clients in patent litigation, especially companies operating in the fields of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, aerospace, and semiconductor technology. Before studying law at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Benedikt Dellen obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Biochemistry at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. |
