As of 1 January 2025, Rutger Timmer has been appointed partner at V.O. Patents & Trademarks. Timmer studied Applied Physics at the University of Twente. During his studies, he worked at the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN). He graduated from the National Institute for Nuclear and High Energy Physics (NIKHEF) and received his Ph.D. from the Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (AMOLF) in Amsterdam, where he conducted experimental and theoretical research based on time-resolved spectroscopy.

Since 2010, Timmer has worked as a patent attorney for V.O. at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven office. With his extensive experience in the fields of optics, physical chemistry and semiconductor products, he is serving knowledge centers and multinationals as well as local tech starters.
