Addleshaw Goddard

Addleshaw Goddard entered the Irish legal market in 2022 by acquiring Eugene F Collins, a firm previously ranked in IP STARS. Soft IP/IT lawyer David Hackett joined the new firm.

Beauchamps

Beauchamps was recognised for soft IP and IP transactions work in the 2023 edition of IP STARS because of its head of IP Maureen Daly. Daly later left the firm in November 2023.

Bird & Bird

International law firm Bird & Bird hired IT/IP lawyer Deirdre Kilroy and data protection lawyer Anna Morgan to launch its Dublin office in June 2022. In December 2022, the firm hired IP litigator Michael Finn and noted its "ambitious three-year growth plan... to expand the team to at least 30 lawyers, including five partners". Ann Henry joined in 2024 as a partner.

DLA Piper

DLA Piper now has an IP team in Ireland led by IP Star Aoife Murphy, who joined the firm in May 2023.

FRKelly

FRKelly is one of the leading IP firms in Ireland. EU trade mark attorney Gavan Ferguson serves as managing partner. The firm has experienced trade mark and patent attorneys for European and Irish IP protection and portfolio management. The experienced European patent attorneys in the firm include David Brophy, Donal Kelly and Paul Keane. 

On trade mark matters, Ferguson is supported by senior practitioners such as Mary Bleahene and Carol Gormley. The firm can also advise on IP disputes thanks to Shane Smyth, a qualified solicitor and patent/trade mark attorney who can advise on disputes and transactional matters. Kelly also understands IP litigation. 

McCann FitzGerald

McCann FitzGerald became a limited liability partnership (LLP) on November 1 2021. The firm is one of the leading Irish law firms for IP disputes and transactions. 

Fiona O'Beirne heads the firm’s contentious IP practice, in which clients will find lawyers such as Shane O’Brien and Rosaleen Byrne. Paul Lavery is responsible for the IP transactional practice and is supported by Adam Finlay and Doug McMahon. All the partners in the practice can advise on soft IP matters, but O'Beirne and O’Brien are the key lawyers for patent disputes.
