Founded in 1991, Pham & Associates is the oldest and one of the most prominent IP Law firms in Vietnam. With strong practice groups in both IP prosecution and contentious matters, the firm continues to be one of the largest filers for patents and trademarks registration in Vietnam and is experienced in carrying out appeal, opposition, revocation, and invalidation procedures, in suing in court to resolve IP disputes or to negotiate to reach out-of-court agreements as well as in providing expert opinions on all matters related to IP. Besides, since 2001 the firm also provides consulting services on business law in Vietnam.

The firm has over 120 full-time staff, including 14 lawyers at law, 34 IP attorneys and 28 consultants, some of whom are former NOIP patent or trademark examiners. Our patent attorneys work in a wide range of technical areas, including chemistry, mechanics, electronics, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, energy, material science and telecommunications. Our professionals can work in Vietnamese, English, French, Russian, German and Chinese.

With headquarters in Hanoi and branch offices in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City – the two largest and most dynamic economic centers of the country – our lawyers have easy access to clients directly to discuss and provide optimal solutions, especially in resolving intellectual property infringements and disputes.

Equipped with a self-designed, full-featured docketing software and regularly updated IP database our professionals are able to carry out all types of searches and monitor the development of cases to ensure desired results are achieved on time.

To date, Pham & Associates has filed and pursued the establishment of rights related to about 32000 trademark, 17,000 patents and 6500 industrial designs for clients in 40 countries. The firm is also the largest filer of PCT applications designating Vietnam.

Annually, as a legal representative of clients, Pham & Associates requested and collaborated with competent authorities to handle about 250-300 cases of counterfeit/pirated goods and IPR infringements. In addition, the firm also performed hundreds of other services relating IPRs such as trademark, patentability searches, maintenance and renewal, IPRs assignment recordal, IP due diligence report, patent Freedom to Operate (FTO) analysis etc.

The firm was ranked tier 1 in Vietnam for patent, trademark prosecution and contentious matters (consecutively from 2009 to 2024) by Managing IP/IP Stars; was winner of the Vietnam Patent Firm (and/or Trademark firm) of the Year Award (consecutively from 2009 to 2024) by Asia IP.
