Abeer Azzam is the Head of Trademarks Department and Senior Intellectual Property Lawyer at United
Trademark & Patent Services (Egypt), with more than 16 years of experience in intellectual property law. She advises multinational corporations, international brand owners, regional businesses, and local clients on all aspects of intellectual property protection in Egypt, including trademark clearance and prosecution, portfolio management, opposition and cancellation proceedings, enforcement, infringement matters, customs recordals and border measures, industrial designs, licensing and assignments, recordals, and intellectual property litigation.
Ms. Azzam has extensive experience representing clients before the Egyptian Intellectual Property Authority (EGIPA) and the Egyptian courts in both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters. She regularly attends hearings before the Trademark Office and the Appeals Committee and participates in meetings with EGIPA concerning trademark practice and procedural developments. She has significant experience managing trademark portfolios throughout their entire lifecycle, from clearance and filing through prosecution, registration, enforcement, administrative proceedings, and litigation.
In addition to her trademark practice, Ms. Azzam advises clients on industrial designs in Egypt, providing comprehensive support across multiple areas of intellectual property protection.
Ms. Azzam is an Appeal Lawyer admitted before the Egyptian Bar Association and a Registered Trademark Agent. She is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). She currently serves on the INTA Trademark Office Practices Committee (TOPC), contributing to international initiatives relating to trademark office practices. She also regularly participates in the annual meetings of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) and other leading international intellectual property conferences.
In 2026, Ms. Azzam was recognized as an IP STARS Trademark Star (Egypt) in recognition of her work in trademark law and practice.
