Gina is a dual-qualified English/US life sciences and technology lawyer who helps her clients with their most strategic IP and data-driven transactions. She is recognised by her clients as being pragmatic, diligent and approachable - quickly becoming one of the team, and remaining intensely engaged until all issues are fully resolved.
Gina is a partner in Pinsent Mason’s life sciences transactional IP team, where she handles a wide range of IP, data (including digital health) and commercial issues. Gina’s clients appreciate her calm approach and her ability to find commercial solutions to complex legal issues. She has significant experience in major licensing deals, international corporate M&As, restructurings and joint ventures, as well as R&D collaborations and other life sciences commercial agreements.
With a degree in biological sciences, Gina has scientific knowledge as well as legal expertise, being both UK and US qualified (as a US attorney-at-law (Illinois), English solicitor and registered US patent attorney).
Gina has been working in the IP field for nearly 25 years, both in the United States and in the UK. She began her IP career working at technology transfer offices at University College London and at the University of Chicago where she managed the out-licensing and spin-out activities for various university departments. She also has extensive in-house experience from her time at Baxter Healthcare Corporation (U.S.) where she worked as a patent agent, managing the patent prosecution and IP commercialisation initiatives for multiple business divisions.
Since joining Pinsent Masons, Gina has led on the patent and data aspects of a number of life sciences transactions, including most recently advising Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) on their five-year collaborative working agreement with Roche Products Limited to establish a new Clinical Informatics and Innovation Unit at Gosh as an exemplar in the NHS.
Gina is a frequent speaker at the Licensing Executives Society (LES) and other industry events, and teaches several segments at University College London’s annual course IP Transaction: Law and Practice.
