Julie Maria Lykke helps secure and protect patent rights for our Danish and foreign clients.
Julie advises Danish and foreign companies on oppositions, appeals, infringement assessments, IP strategies, litigation and general patenting.
In her work, Julie places special focus on creating value for her clients, i.a. by having an eye for the details while also considering the larger commercial context.
Before entering the patent field, she was trained as a Master of Science from Aarhus University and subsequently took a PhD from the University of Copenhagen. Julie specializes in astrophysics, but has a broad academic background in physics such as quantum physics and nanotechnology.
She enjoys immersing herself in theoretical subjects, but also in finding practical solutions to problems. The joy of immersion is within the patent area expressed by the fact that she enjoys digging into previous case law when the task requires it, e.g. in connection with opposition proceedings.
Technologically, Julie's competences range widely. Among her technical specialties are electronics, software, photonics, physics, optics and medical equipment.
Julie has solid experience as a patent attorney for both entrepreneurs, SMEs and large international companies with huge patent portfolios. Since 2016, she has been working with patent consultancy. In 2021, she passed the European Patent Attorney exam.
