Olumide Osundolire is a Partner at Banwo & Ighodalo and has excellent experience in Intellectual Property, Technology, Media & Entertainment law. He has advised in numerous local, as well as cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions involving brand registration, transfer, commercialization, protection and enforcement in Nigeria and other African jurisdictions.
He currently leads a team that is advising several production companies on the production of films and the negotiation of distribution agreements across several distribution channels. He also leads a team that is currently advising an international fashion and beauty products company regarding the protection of its trademarks in Nigeria. He led the team that recently conducted an audit on the IP portfolio of a leading fintech software provider in Nigeria and advised it on the protection of its trademarks and patents. He also from time to time advises a trade union for musicians, in relation to the protection and enforcement of musicians’ rights.
During the recent acquisition of a leading flour mill in Nigeria by an international conglomerate, he led the IP advisory in the cross-border transaction. The team conducted an audit of the target company’s IP portfolio and negotiated key contractual and regulatory terms including the IP assignment and license agreements.
Olumide is a member of several Intellectual Property oriented associations, including the Intellectual Property Law Association of Nigeria (IPLAN) and the Anti-Counterfeiting Collaboration, Nigeria.
