Moritz Kälin works as a patent attorney since 15 years. Due to his broad field of studies, he drafts, prosecutes and defends and litigates patents in many areas of technology, including general engineering, medical devices, encryption algorithms, chemical engineering, chemistry, and pharmaceuticals.

Moritz Kälin studied chemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETHZ), with specialization in polymer chemistry and physical chemistry, and subsequently made a PhD with a topic in experimental physics. He then deepened his knowledge in the field of intellectual property protection with a postgraduate degree. From 2004 to 2016, he worked for two renowned intellectual property law firms in Zürich, most recently as partner and head of the patent department of Rentsch Partner Ltd. Since 2013, he is member of the board of LES Switzerland, the Swiss Chapter of Licensing Executives Society International (LESI).

Furthermore, Moritz Kälin is co-author of the recent commentary on Swiss patent law (2019 edition).
