Nina Westberg operates as a trusted advisor to her clients, offering IP specific strategy advice and practical insight developed from her career in-house within oil and gas and chemical companies. Her dedication and keen commercial awareness sees her assist clients with exploring the viability of their ideas and she is often found at the centre of her client’s IP improvement, developing processes to increase IP awareness and to capture ideas as they happen. She believes that the fostering, development and security of both innovation and ideas is integral to the success and growth of any business and many clients see her as a trusted advisor, often inviting her to join the development process early.
For Nina, working with patents offers the opportunity to combine her interests in technology, law, psychology and language. She started her education with degrees in chemistry, later achieving her degree in Psychology in 2008, and both areas have proven integral to her skills as a Patent Attorney. She has since completed her Masters in Cognitive Neuroscience in 2011, the same year she joined Zacco. She passed the EQE in 2017, joining the Praktika Intern programme at the EPO during October 2018, where she gained significant insight into how examiners at the EPO operate.
Nina works with a range of clients across both the chemistry and metallurgy fields, including agrochemical, oil & gas, materials development and Green Tech companies, among others. Beyond her international prosecution work, she assists clients with exploring market IP suitability and developing the protection of their trade secrets.
