Stefan Müller has been a partner at 2SPL Patent Attorneys since 2012 and is an expert in the protection of digital solutions and semiconductor technology in Europe. He is European Patent Attorney, German Patent, Trademark & Design Attorney, and UPC representative. His primary areas of IP expertise include patent drafting, patent prosecution, and opposition proceedings for major international corporations, medium-sized companies and start-ups.
Additionally, Stefan Müller regularly conducts in-house workshops for clients on the topics of idea generation and patent bypassing as well as patenting of software including AI. His technical expertise encompasses semiconductor technology, computer-implemented inventions (particularly machine learning), measurement technology, and telecommunications. He is fluent in both German and English.
Before becoming a patent attorney, Stefan Müller studied technical physics at the Vienna University of Technology. He also completed several semesters in electrical engineering and computer science. Following his studies, Stefan Müller worked as a failure analysis engineer at Infineon Technologies AG in Munich, where he analyzed faulty semiconductor components and developed new analysis methods.
Aside from his professional work at the firm, Stefan Müller is actively involved in educational initiatives at the IP Business Academy, where he shares his expertise on the international optimization of the scope of protection and grant rates for software patents.
