Ellen Breddam is a highly experienced European Trademark and Design Attorney with over two decades of expertise in intellectual property rights. She has been a valued partner at Plougmann Vingtoft since 2018 and leads the firm’s Trademark team.
Ellen provides strategic counsel on all aspects of IP rights, with a strong focus on trademarks, designs, and domain names. Her expertise spans a wide range of industries, including the wine sector, enzymes and probiotics, advanced manufacturing equipment, as well as the IT and consulting fields where her expertise in trademark matters is particularly strong.
Renowned for her collaborative approach, Ellen counsels a diverse client base from multinational corporations and SMEs to start-ups and individual entrepreneurs.
Before joining Plougmann Vingtoft, Ellen worked at another leading IP consultancy from 2005 to 2012. Earlier in her career, she served at the Danish Patent and Trademark Office, first as Legal Examiner and later as Head of Section, where she was responsible for developing legal practices related to trademarks and designs.
In addition to her professional practice, Ellen is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, where she teaches intellectual property law.
She is also the Danish contributor to INTA’s Madrid Agreement and Madrid Protocol Practice Guide and an active member of both the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA) and MARQUES.
