Thomas is considered by many of his clients to be a master of trademark and branding IP Strategy. With more than 20 years of experience advising both domestic and international organisations on the legal and commercial impacts of their intellectual property, he works tirelessly to help his clients identify, secure, enforce and protect the value of their IP rights.
Thomas’ extensive expertise see him assist clients across industrial and service sectors, developing a comprehensive understanding of their strategic needs, business interests and operating environments. An experienced litigator, he has successfully conducted and won a number of important court cases for IP right owners in Denmark and before the European Court of Justice.
His detailed knowledge of IP, Business and Commercial Law, combined with his skills as an anti-counterfeiting expert, both online and offline, have contributed to the expert advice he offers. This covers areas such as the protection and enforcement of trademarks, designs, patents, domain names, trade names and trade secrets, as well as on infringement and other conflicts, among others. He is skilled in IP due diligence, often able to quickly identify the market value and security of IP rights under acquisition and he is an expert in online and digital brand protection strategies, including the growing area of NFT infringement protection.
Thomas helps his clients to navigate the benefits and pitfalls of securing their brand identity rights. Clients recognise his commitment to excellence, whether they are an early stage start-up or a multinational with a global portfolio, and this forms one of the most important reasons that many of them continue to work with him as they grow from one to the other.
Thomas holds a Master of Law from both Copenhagen University, Denmark and Ruprecht-Karls University, Germany and was admitted to the High Courts of Denmark in 2004.
His skills and expertise are regularly recognised by the World Trademark Review in their WTR 1000.
